Information for Parents

Another great season ahead...

This section is written for the Crew - the parents, friends and miscellaneous supporters, mechanics, goggle-wipers and nose-blowers that every good junior rider needs.

Once again the organising committee of the Junior Events, has been busy planning a jam packed season of great rides.

Some feedback from last year was to mix things up a bit.

We took that on board and will be offering a couple of format changes for this season.

The season will kick off with the BIG, Riding Skills & Coaching day at Bannister in April, then straight into a Short Course Enduro at one of our favourite property’s in West Dale, that we haven’t used for a number of years.

Due to the dry weather of the last year or so, we have had to carefully consider which are the best property’s to run events this year. We again have a couple of new property’s. One north of Perth in an area called Gillingarra, and another in the South East near Wandering. Both will make excellent venues for an event.

In total we will be having 6 competitive events to make up the T&E Junior Offroad Riding Championship Series.

Along with the usual Enduro, Cross Country & Natural Terrain, we will also be running an Enduro Sprint & a multi lap (non stop) Cross Country later in the year.

Many people have requested more non competitive & coaching days, so we will be filling the calendar with a few more of these events. Keep your eyes on the website for details.

Participation is still an important part of events, with all riders going in the draw for some fantastic spot prizes from the many sponsors who support the Junior Offroad Riding Events.

All Event Information & online entry will be available on the website approximately 4 weeks prior to each event.

Our Sponsors -

All of our sponsors have once again offered their valuable support for the coming season, so when it comes time to buy some new equipment, please support the sponsor’s, that support your sport.

Class Changes -

The class changes we introduced last year definitely made racing fairer & more fun for the riders.

This year we have listened to your requests and modified the Siblings class to an Under 18 years class.

The reason behind this is to assist riders that are not quite ready to move up and race senior events, by giving them more race experience & confidence before they hit the big time. The pre requisite is all riders must have participated in previous years with JORE. What we don’t want is to attract other senior riders who are just looking for another event to ride.

Camping Out -

Many parents have commented on how much they enjoyed the camping out at events. We have discussed this with the landowners and they are happy to share their property by allowing camping on the weekend of the event. Always check the event information for individual details.

It is a great way for the family to spend some time together, and the kids have a ball sitting around the campfire and telling each other about the days riding adventures.

Parents Help -

These events don’t happen without the help of a large number of volunteers.

We would encourage all parents to get involved and become part of the Junior Offroad Riding scene.

Its easy, you’ll have fun, and your kids will appreciate it.

We look forward to seeing you at an event soon
