Rules of Racing
Listed below are changes and updates to the 2011 Manual of Motorcycle Sport.
As of January 2011, any rider wishing to renew their annual Competition Licence, must have their Log Book signed and have the Permit Number written in the venue.
MWA have advised us they will not process any renewals if the permit number is missing.
As per rule 12.15.0.1 a rider is not allowed to change machine/ bike during a competition.
However, in the interests of participation and having fun (subject to permission of the Clerk of Course & Machine Examiner), a rider may change machine, but will not be eligible for points on the new machine.
As per rule 3.8.1.2 a rider must complete a separate coaching endorsement for 125/150cc 2st and 250cc 4st before being able to compete on either machine. For example if you do your 5 hours coaching on a 150cc 2st and want to race on a 250cc 4st you will not be allowed anless you have had your log booked signed off for both bikes. No exceptions.
The proposed change to rule 3.8.0.2 for the Junior Coaching Program to renew a Competition Licence (annual competency assesment) will not be introduced until January 2012.
The proposed introduction of rule 3.8.0.3 (annual competancy assesment when progressing to a machine of larger capacity) will not be introduced until January 2012.
